The Neya Kalu Foundation (NKF) members visited the Ayinke House, the maternity arm of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital on Saturday 2 Sep 2023.
The NKF is quite passionate about releasing women and children who have been arrested/detained in the hospital. This is a phenomenon in this part of the world where persons who are unable to complete their hospital bill payments are kept in the hospital until they do so.
The NKF has been anonymously releasing people like this for years and only recently started attaching a name to the deeds of kindness. On this visit to Ayinke House, we met with some patients that had been detained which included a teenager, new mothers and some other women.
